West indies T20 star player Andre Russell banned for one year from cricket

West indies T20 superstar all-rounder Andre Russell has been banned for one year from cricket by World Anti-Doping Agency after failing to comply with the instructions prescribed by the authorities. Russell failed to give relevant information and did not appear for dope tests on three occasions in the last one year.

Andre Russell could see a two year sentence if found guilty of wrongdoing as the final report of the judgment is yet to be declared. The verdict was given out by three member tribunal that included Dr.Majorie Vassell,Hugh Faulkner and Dixeth Palmer.

It will be a big setback for all those teams for whom Russell played  in the domestic t20 leagues around the globe such as Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and Sydney Thunder in the Australian Big Bash League.

He is certainly a powerhouse in terms of bat and ball in the t20 format as he has played over 200 T20 games scoring over 3000 runs and taking 200 wickets so far in his career.
