West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell signed by Melbourne Stars for BBL season

Andre Russell, the West Indies experienced all-rounder, will colligate with Melbourne Stars side to cover the injury-hit for only five matches. Moreover, Russell is ready to play his upcoming first match of BBL this year. The game will be played against Sydney thunder on Friday, December 10, at the MCG.

The astonishing all-rounder is currently completing his 72 hours quarantine period after reaching Sydney before joining the team for matches. As a result, the Pakistani fast bowler, Haris Rauf, has joined the fantastic team. He will be playing his first match of the season on December 27. Haris will continue the side for the entire tournament.

Melbourne Stars Captain Glenn Maxwell expressed his pleasure as Andre Russell signed for the franchise. He has said there are a lot of players carrying injuries. Russell is proven T20 performer and does provide utility wiith bat ad ball. Russell has previously played for Thunder in 19 matches in three different seasons from 2014 to 2017. Russell was stretched off the field back in 2017 when he was playing against Stars- it was Russell’s last match he played for Thunder. He has made a total of 296 runs from 17 innings at a splendid strike rate of 166.29 in the Big Bash League. He has also snared 23 wickets.

We couldn’t see the all-rounder Russell in a powerful and good form in the T20 WC, which was recently held in the Oman and UAE in October and November, clustering only 25 runs and bagging three wickets. Nonetheless, he showed his skills a few days ago while playing for Delhi Bulls in the T10 league in Abu Dhabi with a staggering 32-ball 90.
