West Indian all-rounder Phil Simmons applies for job of Head Coach for Indian Team

Former West Indies all-rounder Phil Simmons has formally applied for post of Indian cricket team’s Head Coach. Simmons has credible experience serving time with teams like Ireland, Zimbabwe and West Indies making a top-notch candidate for the job. He has excellent record as Coach and has really been effective with different players during his time with West Indies and Ireland.

Simmons applying for the job has added a new in dimension to the scenario as he has proper experience of being in charge of three international teams over the last five years. Simmons helped Ireland produce credible performances in 2011 and 2015 Cricket World Cups with a stunning win over England.

He also helped West Indies to clinch their second T20 title in 2016 T20 World Cup played in India. Simmons was unjustifiably sacked by West Indies Cricket Board due to differences in approach to the way West Indies cricket was being administered.
