Virat Kohli will miss first few games of Indian Premier League due to shoulder injury

Virat Kohli is set to miss the first few games for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The right-handed batsman sustained a severe shoulder injury during the third test at Ranchi against Australia. Ajinkya Rahane led India as stand-in captain for the last game which India won to clinch Border Gavaskar Trophy 2017 as Kohli failed to clear the fitness test ahead of the game.

Kohli stated that he needed time to regain full fitness as it will take a couple of weeks to get back on the cricketing field. He said that he was proud of Indian team which showed plenty of courage and determination to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy to cap off the season a high. He said that everyone in the setup contributed to a successful home season as big players put their hand in big games to seize big moments against teams like England and Australia.

Earlier, Head Coach of Gujarat Lions Brad Hodge made outrageous claims that Kohli skipped the fourth and final test at Dharamsala to get fit in time for the 2017 Indian Premier League. He stated it would be a malicious stunt if he turns up to play in the opening game against defending Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad on 5th April.
