Star batsman Rohit Sharma completes 4,000 run landmark in Indian Premier League
|Rohit Sharma became the fourth batsman in the history of Indian Premier League to score 4,000 runs as he joined the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina in the club. Mumbai Indians skipper accomplished the milestone during the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore played at Wankhede, Mumbai. He reached the 4,000 runs landmark by taking a single off the bowling of Pawan Negi as he took 152 games while playing in the Indian Premier League.
Rohit Sharma started his career in the league with Deccan Chargers but later on joined forces with his native franchise Mumbai Indians in 2011. Since then, he has played for Mumbai and also taken them win the Indian Premier League and Champions League T20. He helped the side win their second crown in 2015. He came into the competition after being out of the game for almost six months since November 2016. In this season, he has been batting down the order much to the surprise of cricket pundits and fans. Sharma has surely found his form in the last couple of games as Mumbai looked in better shape to lift the crown for a record third time.
