Sri Lankan Cricket Board appoints Chaminda Vaas as bowling coach for national side
|Former Left-arm quick Chaminda Vaas has been appointed as bowling coach of Sri Lankan side by Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) for the forthcoming series against India. India is set to play their first game at Galle as the opening test of the series will be played on 26th July at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Initially, Vaas has working at the grass root levels and working in the national setup since last year from August. Sri Lankan Board has hired Vaas to make sure things do considerably improve for Sri Lanka on the bowling front. The veteran fast bowler was finest cricketer of his generation as he accumulated 355 wickets in Tests and 322 wickets in limited overs cricket while playing for Sri Lanka for almost a decade.
Chaminda Vaas has experience of working with the national side from 2013 till 2015 before gaining exposure by taking up stints with teams like New Zealand and Ireland.
