Sri Lankan captain Angelo Matthews ruled out of T20 series against Australia
|Angelo Matthews is probably going through a rough phase in his career as he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 series in Australia after sustaining a hamstring injury. Matthew is the captain of the side but since he will not take part on the tour the board and selectors will make a formal announcement for the stand-in captain for the series on Tuesday.
Matthews is undergoing treatment on his hamstring and did fly back to Sri Lanka after picking up the injury during the second T20 game against South Africa at Johannesburg. Dinesh Chandimal was stand in captain for the last game and Upul Tharanga is currently the stand-in captain for the one day series against Sri Lanka.
Selectors are in a quandary as to who will be the one to replace captain Angelo Matthews in the lineup as Tharanga and Chandimal have not been picked for the T20 format. Sri Lanka will play their game at Melbourne on 17th February in the three match T20 series against Australia.
