The third and final game of the series between England and South Africa saw Hashim Amla reach another landmark in his cricketing career. Amla completed 7,000 runs and also broke Virat Kohli’s record of reaching there in least number of innings.
The right-handed batsman came into the series on the back of a successful stint in the Indian Premier League for Kings XI Punjab. He produced two tons in the season and also produced consistently good scores for the side. South Africa’ ace batsman reached the milestone in his 153rd game while Kohli previously set the record in just 161 games.
To add to that, he also holds a career batting average of over 50 in the format which makes his record truly remarkable. He has notched up 24 tons in his one day career and will look to get as many runs as possible in the format for South Africa.
