South Africa move to no.2 in the ICC Test Team Rankings following their series in New Zealand
|South Africa won the three-match series by 1-0 as the final day at Hamilton was abandoned due to intermittent rains pouring down the ground. Faf du Plessis and co. are now placed at no.2 position in the ICC Test Team Rankings as they managed to move past Australia by one point due to their series triumph in New Zealand.
India are the top of the pile and have pocketed one million dollars as the end the season on a high after registering consecutive wins against New Zealand, England and Australia. India played a record 13 Tests at home out of which on nine occasions they came out victorious and suffered only one blip at Pune against Australia.
South Africa have been impressive this season as they brushed aside Sri Lanka and New Zealand at home and then cap off the season with the series in Australia and New Zealand. South Africa will be pleased with the turnaround after drubbing suffered at the hands of India last season. England on the other hand suffered a low as they managed to win only one series out of four played this year.
South Africa will have a chance to make a claim for the top as they tour England this summer to play four-match test series.
