Romario Shepherd included in the West Indies T20 squad for New Zealand tour

Romario Shepherd has been named in the West Indies’ T20 squad and is all set to replace injured Dwayne Bravo for the upcoming three-match T20I series against New Zealand.

All-rounder Dwayne Bravo suffered a groin injury during the Indian Premier League. He sustained the injury while playing for Chennai Super Kings. Dwayne Bravo expressed his disappointment of being ruled out of the upcoming tour of New Zealand. He last played T20I game for West Indies in March in Sri Lanka.

He stated that we looking to make adequate preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup next year.

Dwayne Bravo will fly back to Trinidad to undergo rehabilitation process and get himself fit in time for West Indies next T20I assignment.

Romario Shepherd has delivered impressive performances for Guyana Amazon Warriors. In eight matches played in the Caribbean Premier League, he picked up six wickets at a splendid economy rate of 7.31. He played a key role in Guyana Amazon Warriors qualifying for the semifinals of the Caribbean Premier League. He made his T20 debut for West Indies earlier this year.

Romario Shepherd was surprised to be named as a replacement for Dwayne Bravo in the West Indies T20 squad for New Zealand tour. He said that he will be looking to make an impact with the bat and ball in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand. Shepherd said that he is working hard in the gym and doing practice ahead of the upcoming tour of New Zealand.

West Indies are scheduled to play three-match T20I series followed by two-match Test series against New Zealand. The T20 series is slated to begin from 27th November.
