Off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman re-signs with Brisbane Heat for coming BBL season

Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has signed for Brisbane Heat for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. Mujeeb, who have played three seasons for the franchise, is currently ranked fifth in the ICC T20I Rankings for Bowlers.

In his debut BBL season, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was named Brisbane Heat’s player of the year. He also claimed his five-wicket haul in the T20 format last season against Hobart Hurricanes. Overall, he has taken 29 wickets in his entire Big Bash League career at an excellent economy rate of 6.13.

The 20-year old has re-signed for Brisbane for his fourth consecutive season. He said that he has enjoyed playing for Brisbane Heat in the competition. The off-spinner will be looking to continue his decent form with the ball for Brisbane Heat.

In the inaugural edition of the Hundred, Mujeeb Ur Rahman has claimed six wickets at an economy rate of 7.24. He performances certainly impressed everyone especially Darren Lehmann.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the standout bowler for Northern Superchargers in the inaugural edition of The Hundred Men’s competition. Brisbane Heat Head Coach Darren Lehmann was coaching in the inaugural The Hundred competition. The franchise has shown their pleasure of signing Mujeeb Ur Rahman for the coming edition of Big Bash League.

Darren Lehmann said that it was exciting to have Mujeeb Ur Rahman back in the Brisbane Heat squad for the coming season of Big Bash League. He further stated that he is a big player for the franchise for the coming season. He has the ability to take new-ball and can also control the flow of the runs in the initial Powerplay overs.

Apart from Mujeeb, England wicket-keeper Tom Banton is another high-profile player signed by Brisbane Heat for coming BBL season.
