New Zealand to tour Netherlands for T20I series in August
|Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Boards announced on Friday that the New Zealand will tour the country to play two-match T20I series in the month of August.
The two T20I matches will be played at VCC Ground in Voorburg on 4th and 6th August respectively. The matches is slated begin at 5.00 PM (Local time). Since 1986, it will be New Zealand’s first tour to Netherlands. In 1986, New Zealand played two 40-over matches against Netherlands.
Netherlands Head Coach, Ryan Campbell talked about the scheduled series and said that it is a fantastic chance to play cricket against best white-ball teams in world cricket. In this two-match T20I series, players in the Netherlands squad will be able to showcase their skills with bat and ball. It is going to be exciting prospect with Netherlands playing a major nation in front of their home crowds.
The Blackcaps agreeing to tour The Netherlands is just another step in the right direction for the game of cricket. Campbell said that all Dutch supporters can come to the ground and cheer for their national cricket team.
The New Zealand’s men cricket team will tour Netherlands in the month of August. They will arrive in the UK in May to prepare well for the three-match Test series against New Zealand. After three-match Test series, the side will fly to Ireland to play three ODIs and three T20Is. The Kiwis are expected to tour Scotland to play two T20Is and one-off ODI game.
New Zealand Head Coach, Gary Stead, who has played in the Dutch Premier League as a player said that the national cricket team is expected tour the Netherlands. Stead said that Dutch cricket team have shown a lot of improvement in the past couple of years. This season, New Zealand will play The Netherlands in home and away conditions. In order to help grow the game of cricket in Netherlands, New Zealand Cricket agreed to play two-match T20I series.
