Lance Klusener appointed team director for Bangla Tigers

Former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener joined Bangla Tigers for the upcoming season of Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket competition. He has been named team director for Bangla Tigers for the upcoming season that will be played from 19th to 28th November.

To add to that, he is currently head coach for Afghanistan men’s national cricket team. Last year, Bangla Tigers played excellent cricket and surprised everyone by securing third place in the inaugural T-10 Cricket competition.

All-rounder Lance Klusener played 220 one-day matches and accumulated 5482 runs with the bat. He also claimed 272 wickets in his cricketing career spanning nine years. Previously, he has been served as the batting coach of Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Despite being named man of the tournament in the ICC Cricket World Cup staged in England and Wales, Klusener couldn’t help South Africa reach the finals of the competition.  He was involved in a terrible mix-up with Allan Donald to see the latter get run-out and see Australia go through to the finals of the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Mohammad Yeasin Chowdhury, Bangla Tiger chairman, said, “We have made the right decision to appoint Lance Klusener as the team director for the upcoming season of Abu Dhabi T-10 Cricket competition.”

Chowdhury stated that Klusener experience and knowledge as a cricketer will be invaluable to the team and help the franchise go the distance in the upcoming season.

Besides having Bangladesh players in the squad such as Abu Haider Rony, Farhad Reza, Mahedi Hasan, Anamul Haque, Arafat Sunny, Junaid Siddique and Yasir Ali Chowdhury.

On the other the hand, Bangla Tigers also managed to sign high-profile foreign players such as Liam Plunkett, Andre fletcher, James Faulkner, Rilee Rossouw, Thisara Perera, Colin de Grandhomme, Robert Frylinck, Hasan Ali and Shehan Jayasuriya. With a lot of talent at their disposal, Bangla Tigers will looking to have a serious dash at the coveted trophy this season.
