Kuldeep Yadav, Rohit Sharma climb in the ICC T20I Rankings
|Left-arm Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has moved up to second place according to the latest ICC T20 Player Rankings. Despite losing the T20I series, India have managed to their second position and are behind Pakistan in the ICC T20 Team Rankings.
Kuldeep Yadav bowled well in the third and final T20I game against New Zealand and finished with two wickets. He dismissed Tim Siefert and Colin Munro in the final game of the T20I series. The visitors lost the game by a close margin. Afghanistan leg-spinners Rashid Khan still leads the way and is number 1 ranked bowler in the T20 format.
Yadav is the only bowler to make it to the Top 10 list in the latest ICC T20 Player Rankings. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal did not achieve success in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand and has dropped down to 17th place in the Player Rankings. Pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at 18th place in the ICC T20 Player Rankings.
In the batsmen category, Indian opener Rohit Sharma has moved to 7th position according to latest rankings. Lokesh Rahul has dropped to 10th place in the table after missing the three-match T20I series against New Zealand. Pakistan’s Babar Azam has managed to retain his top spot in the ICC T20 Player Rankings.
Left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan has moved to 11th place in the ICC T20 Player Rankings. Virat Kohli was rested for the three-match T20I series and is 19th in the list alongside Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza.
Left-arm orthodox spinner Krunal Pandya did well in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand and moved to 58th position. For New Zealand, Kane Williamson is at 12th place while Ross Taylor moved up seven places to 51st position. Wicket-keeper batsman Tim Siefert and pace bowler Tim Southee also made considerable gains following their good performances in the recently concluded T20I series.
