Jaspreet Bumrah, Jos Buttler make significant gains in ICC Test Rankings

Indian pacer Jaspreet Bumrah climbed to 37th position in the latest ICC Test rankings for bowlers released on Monday. England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler also moved to 32nd place after his good performance in the five-match series against India.

Indian captain Virat Kohli still rules the roost with 937 points to his name in ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen. Kohli chipped in with 41 and 58 in the fourth game of the series and already has scored 544 runs against England with one game remaining.

England clinched the five-match series as they beat India by 60 runs at Southampton to take a 3-1 lead in the series. Buttler played a leading role in England’s win in the fourth Test. He produced a vital knock in the second inning to help England post a competitive score on the board.

Jaspreet Bumrah once again produced excellent spells for India at Southampton. Following his match-winning effort at Trent Bridge, he picked up four wickets in the fourth Test played at Ageas Bowl. He also played a crucial role and added vital runs with Cheteshwar Pujara to see India take slender in the game.

Cheteshwar Pujara has retained the sixth position according to the latest ICC Test Rankings. Pujara produced a marvelous hundred to see India take a 27-run lead in the Test match. Pace bowler Mohammad Shami also climbed into the Top 20 in the ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers following a string of good performances against England.

All-rounder Moeen Ali made an emphatic return to the side as he picked up nine wickets in the game to help England clinch Test series. He moved to 33rd place in the ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers. Sam Curran also moved to 29th place after producing crucial performances with the bat at Southampton. He chipped in with 78 and 46 respectively to help England eke out a famous win over India
