Former Pakistan pacer bowler and Head Coach Waqar Younis has been appointed as bowling coach for Islamabad United for the forthcoming third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). He replaces Wasim Akram who held the post for the first two editions of the Pakistan Super League before making a move to join Multan Sultans.
Islamabad United owner Ali Naqvi stated that Waqar Younis will bring invaluable experience to the side and has worked with some of players in the squad for Islamabad United. Naqvi clarified that Akram left the franchise on amicable terms and franchise will always be indebted to his services given in the previous editions of the competition.
Waqar Younis said that he was delighted to be a part of Islamabad United and would love to help the franchise extract more talent for the coming edition. He said that it will be great for everyone if the third edition of Pakistan Super League is played in Pakistan.
The forthcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League will start from 9th February, 2018.
