India’s Virat Kohli completes 6000 runs in Test Cricket
|India’s premier batsman Virat Kohli completed 6000 runs in Test Cricket. He became the tenth Indian batsman to achieve the milestone. He brought up the landmark with a boundary towards the third man during the first innings of the fourth game played at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. Kohli also became the second fastest to reach the milestone in just 119 innings. Sunil Gavaskar was the quickest to reach 6000 runs in 117 innings.
With India precariously placed at 50 for 2, Virat Kohli came to the crease and smashed a boundary off the bowling of Stuart Broad to get off the mark. Indian Captain is tenth on the list of leading run-scorer for India in Test cricket. Sachin Tendulkar still leads the list with 15921 runs to his name in Test cricket. Virat Kohli completed 5000 runs against Sri Lanka in the three-match Test series played in December last year.

In 2017, he scored 1059 runs in 16 innings at an average of 75.64 with five centuries to his name. In the current year, he has scored 853 runs from 7 games with three centuries to his name. He also scored 544 runs for India in the four games played against England so far and have single-handedly carried the side during this series.
