Former Indian all-rounder Ravi Shastri submits application for job of Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team
|Former Indian all-rounder Ravi Shastri has applied for the post of Head Coach of Indian national cricket team making him a red-hot candidate to replace Anil Kumble. BCCI official confirmed that Shastri has applied for the post and submitted his application to the authorities. Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly will interview the probable candidates who have applied for the job. Another possible candidate was West Indian all-rounder Phil Simmons who has filed his application for the post. The others include Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Lalchand Rajput, and Venkatesh Prasad.
It will be interesting scenario as Sourav Ganguly supported Anil Kumble ahead of Ravi Shastri for the job of Indian cricket team Head Coach. Kumble reign was a good one as India enjoyed tremendous success as it will be tough to fill the void left by him. During Shastri’s time, India only gained limited series win in England and reached the semifinals of Cricket World Cup and T20 World Cup. India also won a series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and at home against South Africa with Shastri in charge for the side.
