Faf Du Plessis named captain of ICC World XI that will tour Pakistan in September

Pakistan is all set to host ICC World XI for a three-match T20 games to be played in Pakistan in September. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced South Africa’s Faf du Plessis will be the captain of World XI who is set to tour the country for the series.

PCB Chairman Najam Sethi stated that fifteen top players will feature in the World XI squad who will play three T20 games at Lahore. There are plenty of notables that will tour Pakistan such as Hashim Amla, David Miller, Darren Sammy, Paul Collingwood, Grant Elliott and Imran Tahir.

Zimbabwe’s legendary player Andy Flower is set to be the coach of the World XI side. International Cricket Council (ICC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have made concerted efforts to revive the game in the country after terror attack on Sri Lanka cricket team in 2009 in Lahore.
