Pugnacious opener David Warner has been ruled out of the opening Test of the series against India due to a groin strain. Will Pucovski suffered a concussion scare after playing in a tour game played on Tuesday and Joe Burns lean run with the bat in Shield cricket, Australia’s Head Coach Justin Langer and chief selector Trenvor Hohns will be keen to bring in Usman Khuwaja or Shaun Marsh into the Test squad for the four-match series.

Ben McDermott is set to miss the start of Big Bash League after being included in Australia A squad. Warner is certainly working hard with medical staff to get fit in time for the second Test against India.
