Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur chosen by BCCI for Arjuna Award

Cheteshwar Pujara has been selected by Board of Control for Cricket in Indian for the highly-decorated Arjuna Award. Pujara did merit the nomination after having a wonderful season with the bat in a big home summer that saw him play 13 Tests at home. His consistency helped India produce ten victories out of thirteen games played during the home season. Harmanpreet Kaur has been chosen as well besides Pujara as India’s women cricket mainstay with the bat has been influential for the national side since making his debut on the international stage.

BCCI Officials clearly stated that Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur are two official names chosen for Arjuna Award and are forwarded to Ministry of Sport for their outstanding performances for India during the given time frame.

Pujara has already amassed over 3500 runs in Test Cricket from 48 games played and has 11 tons to his name in his short career span. Harmanpreet was influential with the bat as he helped India clinch T20 series win against Australia in Australia and also played in Women’s Big Bash League representing Sydney Thunders where he delivered some great innings for his franchise during the competition.
