BCCI appoints Ravi Shastri as Head Coach of Indian Team
|Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unequivocally has gone for the popular choice by appointing Ravi Shastri as new coach of Indian Cricket Team. Shastri has previously served with the side as managing director in the year 2014. The Cricket Board took some in making the decision following deliberations with the Indian Captain Virat Kohli. Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) also gave BCCI a nod of approval to make the announcement of India’ next Head Coach.
Former Indian Captain and all-rounder Ravi Shastri first task as Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team will be India’s tour to Sri Lanka that begins from 26th July. He was chosen among ten candidates who applied for the post of Head Coach. He went through a process of interview with former cricketers VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, who form a part of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). Virender Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Tom Moody and Richard Pybus also went through process of interview being conducted by CAC.
Shastri also applied for the post last time around but CAC selected Anil Kumble over him as Indian Head Coach.
