Babar Azam claims top spot in ICC T20 Rankings

Pakistan’s Babar Azam has replaced Aaron Finch to become no.1 batsman in the Latest ICC T20 Rankings. Azam was adjudged man of the series in the three-match T20I series against Australia.

He scored 163 runs from 3 matches at an average of 81.50 with two half-centuries to his name. The 24-year old has produced four half-centuries from his last five games in the T20 format. Due to superlative performances, he has climbed five places to claim the top spot. Babar Azam has scored 1031 runs in 26 matches at an average of 54.26 with eight half-centuries to his name.

Opener Fakhar Zaman is now at 5th position in the ICC T20 Rankings. England’s swashbuckling opener Jason Roy has broken into the Top 10 list according to the Latest ICC T20 Rankings. He is placed at a 9th position with 688 points to his name.

India’s Lokesh Rahul is the only Indian batsman in the Top 10 list in the ICC T20 Rankings. He currently has scored 782 runs in 25 matches at an average of 43.44 with two centuries to his name. Rahul has been a consistent performer for India so far this year in the T20 format.

Indian Captain Virat Kohli is currently placed at 13th in the list with 671 points in the latest ICC T20 Rankings. He currently has scored 2167 runs in 65 matches at an average of 49.25 with nineteen half-centuries to his name.

Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid is now placed fifth in the latest ICC T20 Rankings. The big surprise is all the bowlers in the Top 5 list are leg-spinners. Pakistan’s Shadab Khan, India’s Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav and New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi make up the Top 5 list.

Billy Stanlake and Imad Wasim produced impressive returns with the bat and recently made the Top 10 list. Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf made significant gains in the latest ICC T20 Rankings.
